Alright. This has to be said.
Please, stop giving away your power.
If I had a dollar for every time I heard the same story:
Business owner builds business to some pretty decent success based on intuition and some early lessons.
Business starts to flatten out a bit, or experiences some challenges.
Business owner wants growth.
Fancy celebrity "coach" slips into their feed and sells them on the dream: a plug-and-play, "proven", follow-these-steps roadmap to instant growth and success.
It worked for them, so it must work for everyone.
Even if you're skeptical, with the right marketing it's hard to deny the allure.
They show their results, and the results of their star students, and it all seems perfect. The dreams are going to come true, and finally they will have the business that works - easily, with no effort, etc. - and earns them piles of cash.
So they pay the $30K, excited for the future, and they start the process.
But it doesn't feel right. The business is now shoe-horned into an awkward spot.
It doesn't feel like them, and it disrupts what's been built already.
At the very best, the results are lacklustre.
At the very worst, everything gets broken.
And now they are in an even worse spot than before, because not only are their results not what they hoped for, now they have lost confidence in themselves - it worked for everyone else, why not me?
Things go downhill from there, because a leader/founder who doesn't trust themselves cannot move their business forward.
Here's what I know:
You are the only one who knows what your business needs to be.
Only you.
The help you need to get there is not someone else's 5-step framework, but the right expertise to help you pull that out of your heart and your brain, organize it into a model that makes sense - for you, for your customers, for your vision, for your market - and then figure out how to execute.
AND...
To define your role in the business going forward.
Who will you be in this new phase? What do you want for yourself? How can you show up in your most powerful state, for your business, your team and your customers?
I cannot stress how critically important it is that you build your business from your intuition and your passion. If you don't, everything else will feel off, and won't succeed.
You know what must be. You already do.
You just need help understanding and defining that.
Stop giving your power to someone else - the "experts". Because all they are selling is what worked for them. There are so, so many factors that are unique to every business - someone else's strategy just will. not. work.
Sure, take inspiration from others.
Sure, learn new tactical techniques from others (once you've figured out your own design).
But please, I beg you, stop looking to others for the answers. They are already inside you and they are your power.
When you finally learn this, everything becomes aligned, and your efforts will lead to growth in creative, unexpected ways.
And you will, once again, be powerful.
